Clean Up ~ Tooling Marks

Post by Ranch Dog »

Going through pictures that I hadn't posted as of yet, here are some that show tooling marks in the bore of the press frame. I bought two presses around 2012, both were similar. My original press shows none, but twenty years of fitting might have something to do with that.

I used 320 grit wet & dry sandpaper to work on the ridges, and once they felt smooth, I put a light coat of JB Bore Paste on the ram and worked it back and forth.

Lube with PJ, there is absolutely no resistance or feel of the ram move up or down. All three presses are the same, all the feel is now from die, case, and shell holder contact.
