Trying to due my part
Well men,
Its been a while sense I've posted a comment, mainly due to work. In my free time which has been very little, I have been reloading and I've learned a lot.
In my subject for this post " trying to do my part" what I mean by this is simple.
It's been a while since I've been on the forum and a lot has changed in politics and our beloved forum.
So, by my statement I simply mean.
1> Three weeks ago I update my NRA membership to a life member. I know half of you are life member or higher. I was pleased with the yearly membership, but with this being an election year and every thing on the table with the Dems and socialist I felt I needed to do more.
2> Do to my job I had to vote Friday in the early voting in my town due to the fact that I would not be there Tuesday for the main voting. I don't mind telling you I didn't vote for Trump, because my heart is 100% constitutionalist. Yes I voted for the Texan. If he does not get the nomination and Trump does, I will support him, but my main support is with Cruise.<I hope that didn't offend any body.> Just my true filling on the matter.
3> When I came back on line today with you guys, I noticed that Ranch Dog has set up a contribution
section on the forum. I would really like to thank him for doing this instead of taking the forum off line.
This forum is one of the most helpful forums on reloading out there, and the men on here are the greatest
at going out of there way to help solve a problem being it be reloading, or a life problem. Yep, kind like family. So to do my part I will be contributing a little every month to help make sure this forum LIVES.
Well I've blew enough smoke and it's getting deep in here. <LOL> Thanks to all you that have made my first 2 years of reloading a big success. No squibs, No destroyed guns, No dirty underwear. Just doing my part.

Re: Trying to due my part
Welcome back and thank you for your supporting the forum, but more importantly the Constitution through your primary voting. I've voted early here in Texas for Cruz and will be in San Antonio today to listen to him speak. I became interested in him during his run for the Senate and once he was in office I decided to follow him through his weekly email mainly because of his claim that he would do exactly what he said he would. Never have I followed any other politician but I must say he has done exactly what he said he would do. I don't have a problem with him not being liked, he said that he wouldn't be. As a Constitutionalist, I'm not liked by a near majority of this country so I get it. In his position, I would not have been as kind as he has been.
Funny how we don't talk about politics and as the Admin it has been a bit of a blessing because from what I've seen on other forums it can get heated. Nothing wrong with it as long as it is done in the spirit of this forum and within the rules.

I do not disagree with your thinking nor choices. We're all (three of us so far) on the same page. The Donald, to me, is like a petulant child. This will be the end of my political discussions/

Re: Trying to due my part
I'm of the opinion that for the top three candidates on the Republican Side, there are no "bad" choices, only good or better. On the democrat side, there is no choice at all. You can pick from a communist or a communist, but either way, you don't get a democrat over there any more. It's plain they want to take over the country in a permanent way and that disturbs me.
To the original poster, welcome back and congrats on getting some reloading done. I got surprised by a severe and unexpected upturn in our business a month early, so I am not sure if I'll get any more of my winter projects I wanted to do related to guns done.

I'll do my part to not be involved in political discussions any more than to say the system we have is broken and has been severely distorted over the last couple hundred years into a monster the Founding Fathers never invisioned beyond possible fantastical worry.
That's my long sentence for today.

Might have to have a topic "Statement of the Day". Your's is quite appropriate.GasGuzzler wrote:I'll do my part to not be involved in political discussions any more than to say the system we have is broken and has been severely distorted over the last couple hundred years into a monster the Founding Fathers never invisioned beyond possible fantastical worry.

Back from the day spent in San Antonio, well worth the trip even though my mind was made up. Was able to sit front and center. I enjoyed hearing Perry, Abbott, and Cruz up close and personal. At the end, Cruz left the stage and Mrs. Ranch Dog was able to hug & talk to him and let him know he is included in our prayers.

Re: Trying to due my part
The funny thing about to day RD is, while I'm sitting here in a Hotel room in Pensacola Fl.. Donald Trump is in my home town today rallying in Valdosta, Ga. <LOL> If I was at home, I would not of have attended. I would have Liked to of been in San Antonio. The only thing I get real political on is the 2nd and the 1st, and the 14th amendment. That's why this election is so important to me personally, and I feel Cruise has my best interest at hart. I also believe every person is entitled to his or hers on thoughts.. also the last thing I want is for this post is to erupt into a political bash.<LOL>

Re: Trying to due my part
I guess I'm just too realistic in my expectations of this election. Trump can buy everything but I don't think he actually has the political pull to do anything. Cruz will be hassled and is by birth no more qualified than CIC now. Rubio just lacks the appeal,at least to me.
There hasn't been a democrat worth a salt since JFK I'm not sure he was as great as he seems .
Congrats on stepping up your membership.

Dang...JFK mentioned
Let's not forget Dem and Rep swapped places back then
Just another example of a failed system with two parties.

Re: Trying to due my part
Sorry to hear that Trump came out ahead of the Super-Tuesday. He might be the free ticket for Hillary. I'm not allowed to vote, but if I was, I would support Cruz.
@ GazGuzzler:
Be happy for your 2 party system. Have a look inthis table to see the political parties in Germany. You can imagine that they never get anything done, because you'll never find a consensus or even a compromise.
But at least our system leaves some spave for humour.
