YouTube has betrayed us.

Post by akuser47 »

As of April they are removing and blocking gun related videos. Those videos are important to do it yourself people like me. I don't know all details so you can dig a bit deeper if you you care to. Just a heads up. It looks like it may effect reloading videos as well.

Getting mixed information. They aren't banning everything about guns. DIY full auto mods and builds including commercial sales of associated equipment was mentioned. They have been placed in the same category as IED's etc.

No great loss as far as I'm concerned. I usually warn new reloaders to ignore youtube videos regarding reloading (except manufacturer's product/how to videos). I have seen some questionable videos on youtube and anyone can claim to be an expert and post a video. A new reloader has no idea if the video has true content or is just BS...

I gotta agree with this comment. There are a few good ones and I have learned from them but I have also seen a number that are IMHO just irresponsible.

There are a lot of basic reloading videos that are now gone. 76highboy reloading has a bunch of his videos deleted. Women's Beginning Reloading Series is gone. Its not really clear criteria they are using for who's video they are going to delete.

Looks like they'll operate their policy like eBay does: Hire people with no clue and word the policy to make any choice the employees make acceptable. I had a Blackhawk grip frame ad deleted once but I saw a Marlin 60 receiver sell on eBay last month. I expect the same from YouTube.

It's even worse: at YouTube, bots do the "work". A channel can get three strikes and be shut down within minutes, without any time to react. Also reviewing the automated decisions by humans is something YouTube doesn't like to do, and therefore is very time consuming.

His stuff while a bit "unrefined" for most people's taste is filled with good information on all things C&B from loading and shooting to making caps and propellent . I get the making powder pulls and maybe even the caps but the rest of his stuff was just good clean dirty manly man fun .

The sad thing is all the resourceful videos that we might lose.
