Firearm coatings ?

Post by larryw »

Howdy again folks, Wanted to see if any one has any
experience with coatings ?
Cerakoat & Duracoat are the names I hear & see most.
Guy brought me a Stainless/polimer 9mm, after he got
it, he didn't like the stainless, so he sprayed the slide with black bed liner ?? Heck of it is, if he would have
done a proper clean & prep, it would have been a
heck of a tough coating. Think ill use something else.
Cerakoat, Duracoat??? What you think for a
polimer/stainless piece ??? Ease of use, performance
after cure ??? Whatever you got..

I had an M500 long ago that had the factory forest camo paint job . It was an awesome finish on the metal . Except that it over sprayed inside the barrel . From a durability abuse stand point I'll go with it was a very tough finish . 750 rounds the only time it even came close to smooth was when I shot the bore full of dry graphite and it filled .

I have a cerikote barrel so far it's been an excellent coating . It polished a little where there was high pressure fitting rub is about the only remarkes .
