Home Made Bench

Post by Bravo1 »

Here's my home made bench I had to make due to the bottom of my garage not being flush with the wall.

The Lee Progressive Press with the Inlinefabrication mount which raises the press by 9 inches.
Great investment since it is made of sturdy steel that doesn't flex the table at all.
Along with this, I also got their rolling handle which replaced the wooden ball.

Found the plans online and only cost me $100 for all the parts and a few hours over the weekend.

Picture of the garage floor. Because of this 4 inch concrete base, nothing will sit flush against the wall if it's placed on the floor. I had to move the legs in on my reloading bench so that it was flush and nothing rolled off the back of the bench.

Kudos. That's a well built bench. I'm glad you're honest and didn't say it cost $18.72 and took 43 minutes to build.

I'm thinking about getting a large sheet of stainless to put on one of my benches.

Haha! Very true! I just loaded 200 rounds 9mm tonight so I'm getting there. :D

Needless to say, it got a little messy when the primer feed got jammed and powder stared to trickle all over!

A neat looking reloading bench is the sign of a sick mind. Welcome to the rest of us "sick minds"!

I think it's my OCD that makes me want to keep a clean bench. I reloaded another 100 rounds of .45ACP last night and had to wipe down the press, workbench and then shop-vac to make sure I got every fleck of powder!

Careful with the vacuum and gun powder. There's an old wives tale about electric spark from the brushes and windings setting off powder. Doubt it's possible unless you're trying to clean up a pound.
