SMLE Scout Scores!

Post by Ranch Dog »

That big 215-grain Woodleigh dumped this boar like a sack of taters!

Its dark out there! Only about a 35 yard shot but that was as far as I could see.

Awesome! I'm assuming the bullet passed through, so, what did the exit wound look like?

Makes all that work worthwhile. I'm glad you didn't give up.

Yeah, zipped right through him. Both shoulders are shot. I don't know if you can see it from the picture but both shoulders looked like they had been blown up like a balloon. Kind of weird, my be the effect of hydrostatic shock.

This is the area I'm talking about, both entrance and exit. Expanded out like a balloon. Generally hogs are very slick in the shoulders.

Yea, I see that. I agree that it's hydrostatic shock. At that range the bullet was still moving fast, and with that much weight it didn't slow down much, I'll bet.

Now you need to find a Cape buffalo to try it on. :D

That's awesome, I cannot imagine getting hit by a round like that.

Thanks guys! If you had to get hit, it would probably be the bullet to get hit by. It would be over real quick.
