Re: Savage 10 FCM Scout 7.62x39
Haven't had much time over the last five days to do anything with it as far as shooting goes. With hunting season started, I'm tied up mornings and afternoons. I did take both chamber casts and impressions all the while getting my Rossi R762MB up and running as well.
What shooting I've done with the rifle has been with my TLC311-165-RF and it is an extremely accurate rifle.
I did receive my Weaver Grand Slam Lever-Lok Rings so now the scope can be removed very quickly so that the peep site could be used and when the scope is returned, it is returned to the same zero.
I continue to think that Savage has done their homework with this rifle. I think a another cool cartridge that it could be chambered in is the 303 British. Some of the earliest scout rifles where chambered in that cartridge.

Shot the rifle again this afternoon. what a great firearm! I don't know why but this should be offered in 303 British as well! Along with the 308 Win, that would be three terrific scout cartridges.

Could it be? The start of a bolt action fling for RD?

I would doubt it. I am impressed with their rifle but... not much more interests me in their line up. I have owned the 99s, a 170 (pump 35 Rem), and two 340s but I do not feel anything else pulling me. I actually have too many firearms, again, but can find a reason to keep all.357cyrus wrote:Could it be? The start of a bolt action fling for RD?

Oh yeah, I'd rather eat a hog than a deer. My freezer stays full.62chevy wrote:Good shooting but do you dare eat them.

Ok, OK, OK... I will start saving for real now for an exact clone of that rifle, scope, rings, and all.
I'm just too darn impressed.
But seriously, You need to get someone to make that bullet mold. So I can buy one. For that rifle. When I have money. Someday. (sigh)
