muzzle brakes ( breaks)

Which is it?
Anyway has anyone here used one with cast bullets?
Bought one ( not here yet) for a M44 Mosin Nagant.
Got to thinking ( bad for me I know) about wheather or not it would even work with cast.

Maybe plug up?
Don't know anyone that uses one with cast so thought I would ask.

The best suggestion I can give is to make sure you can clean it easy if it has alot of really small vents it can be a pain. Also is this a simple clamp clamp on? It seems there is little material on the barrels of mosins to thread them. Either way you never know till you try it the muzzle blast on the short barrel m44 is ruff so it may vlow it off if its a clamp on.

Muzzle break or flash hider?

I've not seen a break for a Mosin but I've seen some slip on flash hiders that are held on by a set screw. On a carbine I'm doubting it will help much. If it is a break it's going to make that carbine crazy loud.

The m44 is like a howitzer with its short barrel so as said it is a slippery slope

Saw one on a 91/30 Mosin.
Has a hook that fits behind the front sight base and then has several set screws to hold it tight.
He was shooting Milsurp ammo and it did not budge.
The one I bought for the M44 is the same type.

That does look pretty neat. Nice design too that it hooks around the front sight to really hold in on there.

I do not buy by credit card so sent them a money order .
Will take a little longer to get but will let you know how it works after I get it.

Brake . I've run 500 or so out an sk w/a tweeked grenade attachment and not had any issue w/fouling it. I've not read anything about lead fouling in suppressers that are certaimly more prone to it than an open brake.

OK got it in the mail.
No pics yet.
It isn't a slide on and tighten the se screws.
Needed to do a little judicious filing of the band that is the bottom of the front sight base.
Fits well and looks good once it is installed.
Only other problem is making it sit straight while tightening the set screws.
Takes a bit of practice and a few curse words to get it right as it wants to go off center as you tighten the screws

Put it on a M44 sporter I have and will get pictures and shooting results on Monday ( my range day).

A wooden dowel rod that's tight enough might help to be sure it's on straight. For sure don't want it a bit off center.
