3D Printed Two Hole Auto-Disk Blank

Post by buckeye43210 »

Found a design for a 3D printed auto-disk blank on Thingiverse. This design could be further customized.

Anyone able to tell me the width and thickness of a MicroDisk powder bar in mm?

Neat, I've thought about buying that little at home 3d printer. I just had no use for one.

My son has two, and their are local organizations nearby that offer 3d printing services :-)

You can get a Micro Charge Bar from Titan for $30 plus the shipping. Probably easier than trying to figure it out and paying to have it printed. If I tried just to do the measuring, I would need a second printing just for corrections.

Just to clarify, I would like to know the height and width of the bar the micro disk slides on. I expect it to be about 6mm in height.

Okay, I have five of the Micro Charge Disks, two Lee and three Custom Cast. Both Lee disks sliders are identical, but the CC disk sliders are well, all over the place. I guess that is why Lee's mold was going to cost a $125,000 to replace.

In the table "Height 1" is the height of the slider on its long flat length and "Height 2" is the total height at the nipple.

Thank you very much. Just what I was looking for. I plan on working up a basic design in OpenSCAD with dimensional variables to allow for fine tuning.

Once that is done, I can start adding some additional features...

Here's a link to my Simplified Two Hole MicroDisk Replacement.

Please feel free to examine the source code in the .scad file and provide me with comments and suggestions. If you click on "Open in Customizer" you can tweak some of the parameters.
