I have/had a similar setup and found it distracting and I was much better off just watching the press and the contents of a charged case. Lighting is everything. I have an LED gooseneck that attaches to the explosion shield and wraps the back of the press. It is everything I need.

Never used anything like that on a press but have to
say, it would be very distracting to me also.
Got enough to do watching what's happening on the shell plate.
I have used a web cam on my beam scale so the
pointer shows up on my computer monitor, old
eyes just ain't the same, can you say, Diopter time.

Isn't that what the OP is doing with the camera?

Nope. He's got a narrow view of just a portion of the shell plate. There is much more to the press than that view and the problem with using a camera as a crutch is that it diverts your attention away from the press.

Buckeye43210, Thanks for sharing this. I'm familiar with Weider Lader TV and he is very pro Lee Precision. But like many of us he evolves over time on what he likes and what works for him. I've watched him change over time and he may change his mind here as well. I've also seen this bullet camera idea being promoted by others.

The cam can be had for much less than a $100. The problem is in the placement of the tablet, smart phone or laptop. It needs to set in such a position that you don't need to turn your head to look at it. My eyes and sometimes my head tend to move around anyway as I'm checking for the powder level, the primer level and cases and bullets in their respective feeders. I really don't need another head turn.

The only way I would likely use the cam is if I could situate my smartphone or old netbook in a place where my eyes could easily see it with a glance. This might be particularly useful for bottleneck cartridges. My eyes definitely are not getting any younger. Well, actually, I guess that applies to the rest of my body as well.

Further, while I love electronics, let's be real. It may not be nearly as hi-tech, but an appropriately placed mechanic's mirror with swivel is cheaper, uses no electricity, and is likely as effective. Oh, there I go again--trying to be frugal. ;)
