Finding parts isn't as easy as it should be..

I know Lee has parts for everything that they produce, so today I decided to go online and buy some spares for modification and tinkering, and 3D printing, etc..

The only problem was that I couldn't find what I was looking for. It appears the search function on Lee's website isn't quite up to snuff, and their category sorting for parts could use some serious re-vamping.

Even after I finally had the part number, knew exactly where the part was located online, I started feeding part numbers and descriptions into their website search. Not one search test came back with the part I was after, and some came back with zero results altogether. (Part SB1372 - i tried everything I could think of, and the lee website search would not find this part. Google did though.)

My recommendation if you need to find a part:

Use google and tell it site: leeprecision.com/ and then put in your keywords or part number. You're less likely to waste 3 hours like I did going through every single page of every single product trying to find the right items to buy.

I did submit this to Lee, and I sincerely hope they follow up on it.

I look on eBay first to get the part number then search Lee's site.

I had the same problem a while back looking for the Lee Load All bushing set. Did the chat thing on the website and was directed the a link.

I think their website search might use a manual entry index system and if the relevant info isn't put into the index, it cant find anything.

I got a response back from Lee about this.

Apparently, they did it intentionally to prevent people from being able to find parts and 'abusing the free part replacement program'

Well then, all they need to do is actually charge the price they have listed, like I was willing to pay to begin with. Instead they made it exceedingly difficult to find products we might actually want to buy.

Not happy, but oh well.

Lee took down the spare parts from their webshop. When you need parts you know the number of, send a mail and they'll set up special links for you to get them over the shop system.
