I should have waited and not bought that 360-230-RF, I don't think it is going to work out. My TLC359-190-RF delivers too short of an OAL, so the NOE won't work either as the tangent ogive of the nose is the same. At this point, the bore riding nose of the Lee C358-200-RF seems the best bet, but I haven't cast any yet. Next four days are rain days, so I should be able to get to it.

It's interesting to read about this variation on the 30/30 M94. I wish you the best of luck with it.

I just came into a WW II vintage M94 in 32 Win Spl. 20" barrel, I believe. Haven't shot it yet but yesterday, I hand rolled the first batch of ammo for it.

These are classic rifles, for sure.

Best of luck!

Thanks. Had this been a 32 Win Spl, I would have left it as it was. Just too many 30-30 Win on hand.

I did have JES rebore a Marlin 336A to 35-30 few years back. Used different die combinations until I bought a set from CH4D and yes, I was using the same NOE 360-230-RF but I wasn't having any problems with the OAL. I enjoyed shooting it coming close to if not exceeding 35 Remington ballistic.

Great to hear from you Mainehunter. This afternoon, I figured out why that cartridge would not chamber. I forgot I had a bullet stuck in the barrel. Going to work out just fine.

I drilled and tapped the barrel this afternoon. It all worked out just fine. Now, I'm going to take the wood off for a refinish. I'm going to take a bit of the butt stock off and fit a Decelerator to it.

The aft scope ring on the Redfield Jr. base can be unlocked and rotated to the right side of the rifle and the scope removed. There is an adjustable rear sight that is part of the base.

RD... I've re-read the post and looks like your on the right track. I've tried different brass combinations 30-30, 32 Win., 375 Win., and 38-55. The 38-55 was better but not by much.

This project was started by reading one of Ken Waters old article on a wildcat cartridge he created back in the 70's or 80's I think called "350 Maine Guide" based on a necked up 32 Win. or 38-55. The necks on both of them were much shorter almost the same length as a 35 Rem. He mostly talked about the potential of the cartridge and theories but never published any loads.

My Marlin 336A was bored out to the standard .349 bore/.359 grove with a 1-14 twist rate. As for powders I've tried H4895, H335 and Varget that was suggested but another forum member. H335 was a clear winner in terms of velocity but H4895 gets the nod in accuracy. I'm sure there are other powders out there that are better for this cartridge but it's what I had in stock at the time.

Like many other gun projects I have currently, it ended up in the back burner. Felt it deserves better treatment, I sold it to a forum member on another site. I'm trying to concentrate on my 7.62x39 projects a Mini 30 and Ruger M77 but throw in the mix just recently is a Ruger GSR that was rebored by JES to 358 Win. I picked up a 4 cavity NOE 360-245-FN, RG4 that I'm dying to try in her but I don't see that happening any time soon. What's the old saying? "Too many projects, not enough time".
