I guess that depends on the area and the food and habitat they find.

But mainly it's our laws that only allow cartridges and guns that can deliver a minimum of 2000 Joule at a range of 100 m with a projectile of at least 6.5 mm diameter. I don't know the fill level of a .357mag case that would deliver 2000 Joules at 100 m, but I guess it would be close to 200%

Here in Texas they no longer care what you kill them with except poison that would be carried into the scavengers. Kind of funny is that is the solution that the State of Texas has come up with. A poison that affects the respiratory system suffocates them very quickly. It is dead with the animal. They are even building the feeders. They only open and with certain hog vocalizations and shock anything else that touches them.

It is even legal to blow them up in Texas...

if it is legal, go get a bunch of day old bread. Put it out at the same place/same time every other day. if it is like I always saw in Germany, they will come back on a schedule - yours! We could go out and throw the bread out to them same place same time every 2nd or 3rd day. And can then always hunt them at your leisure. Also not over bait, as they eat the bread asap. Good luck

If you look at the area that the hogs are being attracted to, you can tell that this is not a "test" and the area has experienced a number of "pop" "booms".
