Hi all. New member here from Long Island, NY. I found this forum while searching the web for a reverse indexing rod for my Lee Classic Turret Press. I'm new to reloading and guns in general (I bought my first, a 16" Rossi 92 in .357 about 6 months ago). I see several familiar faces from Ranch Dog's Rossi Rifleman Forum, where I have been helped tremendously in terms of slicking up my rifle and getting a big head start on reloading.
I have already reloaded some mild .357 rounds (125 gr coated lrnfp pushed by 5.4 grns of HP38), which has been awesome. I started by using the press in single station mode (by removing the indexing rod) until I figured out how things work, then I moved on to turret mode (with auto-indexing) and it is fantastic. My shooting is paper targets and probable a single station press would have been sufficient based on the volumes I intend to shoot, but I wanted a press I could grow into if/when I acquire more guns (shhh, don't tell the wife).
I will post pics of my reloading setup soon, but I have a few more goodies coming first. So far, I have customized my press by adding a low tech but effective lighting system and replacing the stock rod/handle with a new rod and 5 speed stick shift knob. This way i can crank up production in 5th gear and use reverse to undo any mistakes. Actually I am VERY careful about quality control and at this point, am checking every round for weight / COAL, even though it is overkill. Goodies on the way include the reverse indexing rod, case ejector, and a hornady bullet feed die, which i will use by stacking bullets in a single tube (no automated bullet drops into tube).
Greetings all
