Just for guns I have a guy 70 miles away . He must like me, the last 1 was $5 over his cost plus tax and Brady . His usual deal is $25 over cost which is also usually well under advertised prices . You can tell when he gets in a stretch and is over stocked and cards due .
For loading goods I just set a self imposed limit of $100/mo or 1 item . I think it'll be the big jug of 4198 next month and skip April.

That's how it should work. No one is needy with preparation.

This rifle was so worth the wait. It is going to be tough to send it to Goodsteel to have it rechambered to .22 K Hornet and glass bedded.

He's a gunsmith, ain't he? He'll have it just about long enough I forget I own it would be my bet.Ranch Dog wrote:How long will he have it?
I'd do the chamber job and bed it myself, but when it comes to bedding, I have zero artistic talent and I'm more likely to ruin the stock than do a good bed job. Just was never one of my talents, even though I know every single theory of how to do a good professional job. Ya gots to have a little bit of artistic talent, the one thing the Good Lord didn't give me much of.
I'm much, much better at tuning & repairing mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, robotic and electrical stuff. All that's easy to me, just don't ask me to operate half the stuff I can fix. I hate operator work with a passion. And while I can plough and do all the things a farmer can do out of the seat of a tractor, if I touch a plant with my hand, it dies.
