NRA Arizona BLM Land use Alert

Post by daboone »

Under a March 2015 federal court order, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is required to reanalyze the impacts of recreational target shooting in the 486,400-acre Sonoran Desert National Monument (SDNM). This reanalysis will determine whether and to what extent recreational shooting will be allowed in the SDNM in the future.
Three public meetings have been scheduled:

Feb. 24: 5:30-9:30 p.m., Arizona Game and Fish Department, 5000 W. Carefree Highway, Phoenix, AZ 85086
Feb. 25: 4-8 p.m., Gila Bend Community Center, 202 N. Euclid Ave., Gila Bend, AZ 85337
Feb. 26: 4-8 p.m., Estrella Mountain Regional Park, 14805 W. Vineyard Ave., Goodyear, AZ 85338

It is of utmost importance that NRA members who cherish their freedom to target shoot on federal public lands attend at least one of the public meetings listed above and submit comments to the BLM at the address below. The NRA will be submitting comments to the BLM later this month and will post those comments in another alert.

You can be certain that those who have been fighting to close the SDNM to target shooting and who are responsible for the lawsuit that lead to the court ruling last year will be attending the meetings and submitting comments. Please don’t let their voices be the ones that the BLM hears.

Mail comments to the BLM's project manager, Wayne Monger, at 21605 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85027, or fax to (623) 580-5623, or e-mail to BLM_AZ_SDNMtargetshooting@BLM.gov.

Now Az ........
I've already exhausted my rational discussion skills for the month . So I will just say your efforts are appreciated but I'm pretty sure unless it involves PO'd ranchers and militia it's already been decided and if they can't quietly shoe people away with signs and rules they will simply pull an EIS out of their a......er....brief case and determine that it needs to be a new extention of the wilderness areas . In which you're locked out with no say .

Now I will cut to the chase and offer you a cold drink should you be in the area.
I do this only because I'm wrong and hopelessly trapped inside the fish bowl filled with a false view of what it's like to see uncle lock you out of lands because he feels like it or is trading it away for .....whatever I don't even know where I was going ......maybe the bar.
Just a Red neck,White boy, Blue blood American.....

One of the serious problems here is the trash left behind by shooter and the RV folks. I just don't understand why people take TV sets, cars, washing machines, etc and shoot them and leave their mess behind. Great hunting and shooting areas are going to be lost as a resullt. Stupid is as stupid does.

Howdy D. What shivers my liver is the fact I have lived all over
& seen this many times, behind many labels/mask/organisations,
on scale from large to small, "NO SHOOTING" because it-
(Insert your favorite) But, for some strange reason, 4 wheelers
dirt bikes, 4WD, tearing the living day lights out of everything
in sight are allowed to continue???? Funny how that works????
& you are absolutely right about all the trash & junk left out.
I get so ticked off but, at least you & I do the same thing, I always
take what I can out each time.
Sadly, it's not a new phenomenon, I remember the trash & junk piles in the desert many moons ago, when I was a very young kid..

People have been taught to be scared of lead. Care is needed but it's not radioactive. To the common man trash you can see is bad, lead you can't see is much worse somehow.

Any way you look at it, it's the left's gun control agenda at work.
