1st Hog With My Savage 170B 30-30 Win!
Shot her about midnight and as the title details, first hog for the pump gun. Shooting my C311-170-RF that with H-LVR.
She was a big gal, filled an igloo boat cooler, so I shot her in one ear and out the other and she went straight down at 80 yards out. There were hogs everywhere and a young boar stopped and turned back to look, so I shot him also. Being we are a reloading forum, here is my load!
Time for bed, I'm tired!

Re: 1st Hog With My Savage 170B 30-30 Win!
Congratulations. Good Report RD. Maybe soon I can start reporting some hunting. The 30-30 is a jewel.
I have the permit on the way to hunt from a vehicle because my prosthetic leg gives me a lot of grief. Also 1 lung leaves me short winded.
I can't believe all this stuff happened to me. But I haven't forgotten how to have fun. Mostly shooting and reloading in some way. So most of the time I will say life is good.
Today I have been married to the same woman for 48 years. She is a keeper.

Congratulations to you and condolences to "She is a keeper" for putting up with you! It's uncommon to see a couple enduring 48 years of "For Better Or Worse". You have certainly seen your unfair share and yet can say " say life is good"Steve wrote: I can't believe all this stuff happened to me. But I haven't forgotten how to have fun. Re: 1st Hog With My Savage 170B 30-30 Win!
Thanks klr! What is funny, given that pump rifles are few and far between, when someone sees either of the two rifles they think the are really "slick".
Now, time to work with the Gibbs Summit. Not real sure what I'm going to do with it as scoping it is not an option, or at least an inexpensive option. Still nothing on the SMLE that I sent to NE or at least I haven't checked on it. Not like I need a gun around here. Speaking of guns, my 77/44 is somewhere in that Oz status that Bud's places guns from moving to shipping to shipped. No hurry on it either.
