Finished setting up my Savage 11 Scout over the last two days.
I was waffling on the Bushnell Trophy Scout, a new product for Bushnell, as all my scout type rifles use the Weaver K4 Classic Scout. The Bushnell will take some getting use to as the view of field is very restricted compared to the Weaver.
When you look down the the barrel toward the Weaver you see very little of the scope tube outside the actual magnified view. The Bushnell is like looking through a black PVC pipe. The view is clear but I'm not sure this scout scope can be shot with both eyes open. Should have stuck with my gut feeling on magnification for a scout scope. I'm using Weaver Lever-Lok Rings.
Like on my two 10FCM Scouts, I changed out the Williams peep that comes with the rifle for the Williams Ghost Ring.

I like bushnell decent glass for the money. I have no experience with their scout offerings though. Love that setup. The adjustable cheek riser is awesome for prone shooting and bench rest as well.

Re: Savage 11 Scout
Yeah, I have the peep but you would need a Williams WRGS Guide Reciever mount (the light grey part in the picture). Then that mount slides onto a base for the specific firearm. As far as I'm aware the base is not sold separately but as part of a complete rear sight. Let me know if you need it. I will send you the peep but it is dovetailed to this specific sight system. I had to put all this together for my 10FCM 308 Win because the dude I bought it from lost the rear sight base (still had the mount and peep). Could find the individual base, even from Williams, so I just bought it all together.RBHarter wrote:They have a factory peep sight ?

Re: Savage 11 Scout
I see that looks suspiciously like a set I have on other rifles .
. I'd bet the 198? and the 20?? won't share . I have Williams -> type sights on 30 rifles spread over decades . That last Handi rifle set might be the best bet for a match . The gears are grinding .
I do have a base to try one in.
In thinking more about it from a production point changing dimensions for dove tails does make sense . I have a couple of test beds to try it out on . I'll send my info shortly.
