270 won't fit into sizing die
I just got a 270 winchester pacesetter die set. The case won't feed all the way into the full length sizing/decaping die. Is it possible the die is mis-labeled?

Yep. Make sure the die decapper extends below the bottom of the die about 1/3 inch.be sure to follow the instructions carefully when setting up those new to you dies...
Any technology, not understood, can seem like magic....

I think you may be right. When I put the pin back in the die, I line up the top of the pin flush with the top of the collet, while the collet is still loose in the die, right? Then just start srewing the collet in with a couple wrenches. But when it's fully tightened, I know it's set when I have about a third of an inch of pin sticking out the bottom?

The decapper on the Lee die should be even with or just proud of top of collet.

To figure out if it is a die problem or a problem related to the Ez-X-Expander, remove the pin completely and try sizing a case. The nut that secures the expander is called a "clamp". Might be a silly question, but are you lubing the cases?bluetick wrote:I just got a 270 winchester pacesetter die set. The case won't feed all the way into the full length sizing/decaping die. Was going to ask the "Lube" question also.Ranch Dog wrote:To figure out if it is a die problem or a problem related to the Ez-X-Expander, remove the pin completely and try sizing a case. With what?bluetick wrote:Lubed ouside and inside the neck.
Not all case lubes are up to full length bottleneck cartridge resizing.
