Case Length Gauge Tolerance

Post by Ohio3Wheels »

I just picked up a 44 Mag CLG and noticed that the card shows a trim length between 1.265 and 1.285. The way they are made I don't see how they can vary unless this is an indication of manufacturing tolerance. Two hundreds isn't a lot but in some crimping operation it could make a difference. Slow day waiting for mail delivery my 38-55 is due today according to USPS tracking.

Does Lee not make carbide cutters? It would cost more, but would last a heck of a lot longer before dulling.

@Ohio3Wheels What 38-55 do you have?

I had a J M Marlin 30/30 re-bored and chambered to 38-55 and it didn't get here today.
