Yep, you are right about the changes. I went to the parts page and they show that "ballpoint pen " spring.

These must be a new thing for the new feeders brought about with the APP. All my feeders, even what I'm using with my APP, are the last generation (I added the thin wire spring). That spring helps smooth everything out, and it has been all good since, so I doubt I will get sucked down the new product rabbit hole—this time. I think I have nine different bullet feeders; I would have to count them.

I managed to find someone that has the wire spring and I'm going to swap out that pen spring for it. The pen spring only puts tension on one point so the body twists a tiny amount during cycling which causes it to shift side to side when the feed fingers are fully extended. I think this is why my first set of feed fingers got munched instead of aligning under the die properly.
