Priming Arm timing.

Post by 62chevy »

Had a problem with the primer getting kicked out of the Primer Cup when it contacted the bottom of the shell holder. Cut a piece of paper to fit the ramp and held it there and two pieces seamed to work so glued them in place and trimmed. But two was not enough so added more strips until the Primer Arm cleared the shell holder with a primer in it, took about 5 strips.

Ingenuous fix. If the paper doesn't hold up I would try aluminum tape.

Or drill a hole and tap, and use a worm screw to adjust for wear ;)

I took a culled cast and epoxied it in place.

I just tied a zip tie around the right leg but the paper looks like a better looking fix.

I didn't know this was such a problem with the Classic Turret. Now I have to wonder what caused it, I'm thinking a poor casting and the hill dropped a few thousands.

I actually didn't try if it works on my press at all... I usually prime on the pro1000 or the ErgoPrime. I guess I'll need to test that on a relaxed hour.

My Turret worked fine for several thousand rounds and just started tossing primers out of the cup.
