There was something that in Germany is called LEP (Luft-Energie-Patrone) = air powered cartridges. This was meant to be a "free" alternative for "real" firearms for people who didn't get a firearms licence or didn't want to take the hazzle. These cartridges were filled with compressed air, and a pellet was inserted where the bullet should be. The primer was replaced by a valve, that releases the compressed air when struck by the firing pin. Basically these were real firearms converted to air pressure guns. A very interesting concept, that became obsolete when they changed legislation in 2003.
The device looks somewhat like it could be made to fill those with compressed air. But I'm not exactly sure.

It's interesting for sure. I doubt it's very reliable but still something for those unable to have for sure.
