"New" member from NE Illinois

I've been handloading for almost 2 years now. I load for 9mm, .38sp, .45ACP, .45Colt, .223 and just recently 30.06 for a newly acquired M1. Plan to also load .357Mag in the future. Since I retired from the Navy, I've been living in the NE corner of Illinois, almost to Wisconsin. I use a Classic 4-hole turret press with the Autodrum and all Lee dies. The only thing Lee that I have that I don't care for is the scale. My fat fingers don't work the adjustments well. My main reason for staying up here was my ailing mother but she has passed away and now there are only a few minor things keeping me here. Soon I'll be moving to our place in Rockport (on the gulf coast of Texas).

Early welcome to the Nation of Texas and to this site.

No shortage of advice on your calibers.

I too severely disdain the perpetual motion machine otherwise know as the Lee Safety Scale. Most of my stuff is Lee as well. My most spendy non-Lee machine is an RCBS LAM because Lee doesn't make a comparable machine.

That reminds me....I need a .452" size/lube die and an RN punch for it. :)

Welcome to the forum Popeye! Rockport isn't that far from me, about an hour and a half simply because to cannot drive a direct route there. Where you stationed at Ingleside or Corpus?

I think he is talking about the Safety Scale. Me, I love both it and the Perfect Powder Measure.

Yes, the Safety Scale is what I don't care for. Between my old eyes and fat fingers with limited sensitivity in them, I just don't care to use it. I've got the 5-0-5 that I trickle into for load development and a Gempro 250 for spot checking the throws from the Autodrum or Perfect Powder Measure.

I must say that popping the lights on the top of the page surprised me. Didn't know what happened when I moved the cursor to the top of the page...

Yeah. I was too. Got in a hurry. It's the LSS I hate. Never used a LPPM. My post is edited.
