RD.... I posted this same question at NOE, don't know how often you go there. Just curious if you done any more load testing on your Savage 10 FCM? Picked up a Ruger in 7.62x39 that has the same chamber cut as your Savage.

Good morning. Still shooting it with the TLC310-165-RF and 31.1-grains of W748 for 2190 FPS. Here are all the particulars of the load.


Just about out of ammo for it and I'm just about out of the W748 so I will switch to one of the Hodgdon powders I have in stock. Honestly, I have less than a pound of H-LVR that I've not found very useful so I think I will load a case up to a 100% capacity and see how it shoots. The Savage action gives me a lot of leeway, so from the 100%, if the powder offers reasonable performance, I will walk the load up in 1% increments to 105% case capacity to see all it might offer.

Does your rifle have a wood stock or the black skeleton stock?

Oh, will post the same as above on NOE. Usually frequent there and ran some load data for a fellow but just been spread pretty thin as of late.

The rifle came with the skeleton stock, 22" blued barrel. Based on the serial number it was made in 2003 and that surprises me because a buddy of mine has one built in 2001 but with a stainless steel barrel, wood insert grips and it's a 310 bore. He's been using the TLC313-150-RF with great results! I did have a CZ 527 a while ago but didn't get a chance to cast for it. A guy at one of our gun ranges fired the CZ and fell in love with it and had to have it.

Like I mentioned over at NOE, with a COL of 2.175 I can chamber the TLC310-165-RF no problem so I'm not even going to bother with the TLC313-150-RF for this rifle. Have AA1680, Reloader 7 and Varget for powders. Even though our gun range is closed, (buried with snow) I can at least start casting soon.

In the next day or two I will get some data posted for this bullet and the cartridge.

Funny how this cartridge never took off in a bolt gun. I will do everything I need done here on the ranch. Super 100 yard deer and hog rifle. I guess the Zastava Mini-Mauser is no longer offered. The Howa looks nice but I trying not to buy anything else. I actually need to get rid of some but doubt that will happen.

Checked and didn't realize that I had already posted the load data for this combo in May of last year.

Thanks for the info! I'll look at it when I have a chance. Have you looked into the CZ? I did like mine when I had it. The double set triggers and having iron sights is a plus but the only negative I had with the rifle is the bolt throw would hit the rear bell housing on my scope slightly. They do make aftermarket bolt handles for them now to address the problem. If I didn't purchased the Ruger I would definitely purchased another CZ.

The Savage 10FCM was a separate consideration but I did compare the Zastava against the CZ. At the time of my purchase there were no CZ to be had. Now it is the opposite. The Zastava has a tiny bolt handle with no alternatives.
