3D Printed cartridge block

I recently found the need for a second block that would hold 45/70 size cases. I have one that I made years ago from a 8/4 block of cherry. And I know there are places to buy them to fit, but I've got a printer and I've got filament and I found an OpenScad file that was written to build custom vial holds for lab work and cartridges are nothing more than brass vials and so a few hours later.

Love the variable sliders in the Customizer.

Just added variable sliders to my Powder Bushing Project, and my Simplified Two Hole Micro Disk Replacement. Will try to add these to some of my other projects as time permits...

Any purchase recommendations for a printer to accomplish the various projects that have been posted?

Danger! 3D printing is very addictive. You could end up prototyping bullets and bullet molds if you had a 3D printer -- oh wait, never mind...

Now back to your original question. The Monoprice Mini Select is $200.

That's a sweet printer for the money. I'd love it if a mini cnc machine would be this affordable. The gun parts I could make it would be awesome. +guns

I haven't been able to find the Monoprice at $200, more like $250. I can also be more specific as to what I need from a 3D printer, here is the primary use; printing Plastic Slide Inserts for the Taurus 25 Auto pistols.

These inserts last about 250 rounds and then need to be replaced. A great idea for protecting the frame but only as long as Taurus offered the part. Taurus and Rossi, being one and the same, are very bad about parts for discontinued models; there are none. In fact, they stop producing parts about a year before the model is dropped. For the 2016 calendar year, all the 25 Autos were dropped.

Would this be a suitable project for the Monoprice Mini Select and if so what types of material and nozzles would be needed?

I probably should have waited for an answer to my question, but I did buy one for $231 on eBay with free shipping and no Texas sales tax. That are a lot of Amazon sellers on eBay so you must watch the checkout total. Amazon taxes the maximum allowed in our State, which is not required on their part, which is 8.25%. This is a real %@*&$ all around in that I live in a rural area where the rate is only 6.25%. So that is two counts against Amazon and is why most Texans have stopped buying from them. eBay let these bastards in about a year ago, so you have to be very careful. I looked at ten sellers before I found a non-Amazon seller.

Nice thinking Rd heck if you make one that holds up you could probably sell them to recoup the cost of the printer. Even if not it will be nifty to have it. There are so many different types of polymers n such that can be used in them.
