So im here in Miami, heading to work for the county as an 'essential' employee trying to squeeze in all the cruise ships before the storm comes. People are scared, too many memories of Andrew

Ive lucked out so far and havent been here for a big one and too young to have dealt with Andrew or others

In line now for gas, 2.79 a gallon, was 2.35 last week. More to come later, its my turn to pump!

Anyone else down here dealing with this?

Best of luck, keep us posted when you can. What essential task do you provide for the County?

I'll add my prayers in the hope that you folks in the path will have the same strength and positive attitude in helping one another that my kids have found dealing with their nightmare in TX. It just amazes me the strength of community in the aftermath of disaster.

I just have hope that the nasty whirligig witch takes a hard right about the Bahamas and twists off out to sea..... and her little cousin, Jose, fizzles out soon. Enough for this year already for everyone.

Keep safe, man - it's about 5pm EST Saturday, with that Irma bearing down on you all. Wish you good luck and stay safe!
Let's get these hurricanes and wildfires to settle down, already!
