He bought a 73' Springfield Trapdoor the original action is 1875 and rebarreled 1886 .
Wow the trigger is nice .
I loaded him a few really light paper patched 285 gr HB 454618 .
12gr of Unique .
I loaded the same charge with a 462-420 M-P that drops at 380 hollow based .
As kind of a surprise Jorge's first shot hit a 4" steel gong at 50 yd . Being a little more than a hopped up 45 Colts load in a much bigger case . I believe both loads were subs . I was pleased with the brass as ejected . Not lopsided , nice straight cases and best of all , no lumpy scale or new pits in the barrel in fact no pits at all .
What a neat rifle .
Well the rifle and owner picture is too big .......
I have a new mould I might try in it also a , new translation of the 535 gr target bullet . It's too long for the 1895 in any standard type load .
