We had a cold front push through the last couple of days and in my area, the third rut is approaching so this cold snap got the bucks up and out of the brush working scrapes in prep for the does being receptive. This buck isn't the buck I was targeting, I think that fellow has gone nocturnal, but in two days he is the 17th different buck I've looked at! God Bless Texas!

I used my Win M94 Timber Scout chambered in 44 Mag that I purchased earlier this year. Winchester made the rifles in 2005, with only 100 manufactured, and I found one still new in the box that I bought immediately. Both this rifle and the 30-30 Win Timber Scout and the most accurate rifles I own and that statement would include shooting against both my Savage Scout bolt actions. These rifles are sub-MOA. Winchester must have taken their time with them and got them right.

The shot was 100-yards, My 275-grain cast bullet smacked. him right behind the shoulder, and he went straight down.

The Winchester has a bit of throat to it and it allows me to seat the bullet further out of the case and use one of the first tumble lube bands for the crimp groove. I used H110 but let me just use the image details for the 44 Mag hand loaders. Velocity is 1885 FPS for this 40.0K PSI load.
