Hi guys!
I just received a spam email that used information from this forum. See screenshot below:
I never click any bit.ly or similar links in emails, always check the real link before (http://www.xposition.co.uk/bitly-decoder.asp)
The link from the spam mail is a direct link to some installer software. Quite a few firewalls would allow to run that, because you actively clicked the link.
Be careful with mails that seem to come from known sources, but look unusual.

Thanks for the info. I don't click anything unless I know what it is. I get fake Pay Pal emails all the time. I forward them to the real pay pal.

Re: Spam mails with info from this forum!
That isn't the forum's mail account. Hmmm, it is easy to check the send file from account and it wasn't sent from my service. The header info would give you the email server it was sent from. All public email services have been breached; yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. Who opens a link in any email?

Nope, no " Snark " Michael, perfectly understandable...Ranch Dog wrote:Sure didn't mean for my post to sound snarky.
