Amen on the ice KlR & my Tenns unit, still don't want to do without either one.

Ditto pushing problems associated with knock out drugs.

I tore my right one in my 20's playing church league softball left field and it healed naturally by age 35. I slightly damaged my left one last year playing rec league softball at age 42. I know how to avoid making it worse but...

Godspeed and good health to you after repairs.

Heal and make smoke,
my weak side - my "good" arm had its own hellfire surgery about 1999-2000, so I've had a few years to forget about all the fun involved.

+1 on the ice machine, I bought a nice one recommended by the ortho guys. wearing it right now, in fact. just trying to keep ahead of the pain, since the blocker wore off. that's like an epidural focused solely on your arm.

just working on distracting myself

Good to hear you are back and working on the recovery. Actually during my first repair, many years ago, was the first time I had to sit down at a computer and poke around online. Never seen a forum before. I don't even remember how long ago that was.

I'm back!

9+weeks, with regular PT 2x weekly post-op and started back to school with my 3rd graders four days ago. Lessons learned as recovery continues:
1. boy, did I forget how bad it hurts since my right shoulder surgery. Why? All I had there was a compound fracture of the humerus that required a titanium rod hammered into the core. So, although I had some tearing of tendons, they were not complete width tears.
2. Returning to full range of motion with my affected arm also included over-working my "good" arm, reminding me to not go too far - I can identify my limits, when I feel what torn/tearing tendon "feels like" now!
3. My wife increased her Transformer Power Levels x $1,000,000,000 this summer - she took care of me, drove the camper around all summer, took care of both dogs, loaded/unloaded the camper every stop we took - she continues to amaze me!

Alright, I'll stop there. School year start is always hectic. This holiday weekend, I will try and get back to the guns & ammo discussions!

Here's a funny pic. No idea my wife took my picture immediately prior to being wheeled into OR. I don't feel any pain in this picture!
