Why would I think you'd laugh at me? Because I know you, and it was a dumb thing to do, and you should laugh at me.... I got the tool on E-bay, 8 bucks shipped. Took about 13 seconds to remove said offending piece of brass. Now I have to "fix" the buggered up plug screw I was trying to remove on the end of the barrel so I could reattach the front sight (that I removed in 1972). No..I have no idea why I wanted to reinstall that sight. The rifle has a perfectly good scope on it.

Well, I'm glad you got it out, & like Michael said, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll
never use it again but, it's another neat little tool for the collection.
Front sight, plug screw, 1972 ??? Now I'm gonna laugh!! A lot !!
