I have never used the AD on a single stage; my use has all be on the Turret, Automator, or Load-Masters. I suspect the slight bump of these presses might add to the consistency of the drop.
I cannot imagine having any success with Trail Boss with any delivery system. I wanted to use it, paid a fortune to get a good supply of it, but I was so frustrated with trying to meter "oatmeal," in the end, I traded out of it. Honestly, I've never had a problem metering BPI's Buffer or good old fashion Cream of Wheat. Trail Boss was another matter.
I would say that your ES spread of Trial Boss experienced is not going to make a hill of beans in performance with the powder. I know guys that don't meter or measure it at all. They have said to heck with it and just scoop it up with their cases. I tried that with my 218 Bee but it just will not flow into a 22 caliber neck without binding.

Re: Lee Auto Drum (again)
Horseman, sorry your having trouble with your AD ? Distinct possibility, single stage -vs- turret.
Mine is also on a turret, no baffle, & since you reported your results I've stuffed a bunch more
9mm, same results +- .1 & believe it or not, I was sure surprised, (but being a long time Lee PPM
user, I shouldn't have been.) Most throws, if not "dead on", were what I would call 1/2 of a
tenth +-
I was about to switch over to my Pro 1000 & run some 45cap, or auto or what ever the heck
the name is now??? But I think I'll set up on a SS & run some 38, & 357, let's see what happens.
Don't know when ill get to it, but soon. Couldn't be happier so far, but as with all throws, A wider selection of powders & weights will paint a bigger picture.
I still haven't messed with that adjustable charge bar in the Pro Auto Disc, I need to do that!!

Re: Lee Auto Drum (again)
Don't have the AD but do have a deluxe and I'm pleased with. So far I've run Trublue, Varget, H110, H4895, H4198, Lil'gun and most likely others I can't recall right now. Cases have been 45 Colt, 44 mag, 38-55, 30-06 and some 5.56. Drops have stayed within .1 grain +/- through it all. Like I said I like it. Thinking about seeing if an AD could be adapted to my 650.
