Bator mold...

Just ordered a double cavity .224, 55 g "BATOR" mold from Midsouth. Going to eventually attempt cast in my AR so figured I would grab the mold while they were in stock. I wonder how much indigestion and sleepless nights this mold will cause me?

Keep us posted. I've looked at that mold for a while now. I bought one from NOE that casts a bit heavier bullet but I'm so back logged on projects I've not even loaded any yet.

I like that statement, very true for most of my projects!

I still haven't done anything with the .380 mold bought this winter or that TL314-90-SWC I bought for cat sneeze loads in my .308.

I'm usually just guilty of too many projects but now I've been working a lot of OT that is just eating away at me. I took half an hour to cast some .45 and 9mm and even then I was mowing the front yard while the lead came to temp. Gotta keep moving, can't slow down, nothing is getting done!!!

I have a new to me 22 Bater it drops a nice 225-55. I cast maybe 100 of them to try in a 222.

I have loaded a ton of these bator's for my 223, 22 jet, 22-250, and they are awesome.....

There are a few tricks to casting these little critters.... First is, bump up the temp, cast with a hot mold and keep it hot... Dont dally around and check out the bullets as you cast them... Cast about 100, then take a break and check them out.... Also, to get good accurcy, you MUST be hyper critical about inspecting the bullets... Start by weigh sorting them, and only load one weight group at a time.. Lots of folks weigh them and just keep one weight class, the rest go back into the pot.... Those are the tricks that I use... I cast with a six banger....

Great tips!!! I don't usually weigh and separate so I will try that.
