I have been priming off press for, just guessing close to 2 years. Recently I got a RCBS bench priming tool. I do the priming while watching TV so It doesn't actually add any time to my reloading. I was using a hand primer, then daboone put me on the trail of one of these. Now I look forward to priming cases.

99% of my reloading is done on my Loadmaster. Feeding that thing primed casses makes it really fly. Also to take advantage of the case feeder I use the loadmaster to decap all my pistol cases and 223 rifle cases

This is how I set it up, I prime them in 500 count batches and hands don't get tired now.

This is what 5,000 primed 40 S&W looks like.
My Loadmaster is gonna be a happy with these.

It will really go relatively fast. I usually do my 40s in batches of 500, guess that’s why I bag them in 500 lots. On several occasions I checked the time to load 500 primed cases on the Loadmaster. It was just a few minutes over an hour. I want to get some bullet metal and make some of my own bullets this spring. Maybe they will wind up in some of these cases.

First warm nice day that hits here I'm packing a lunch, going to the range with 1,000 40s and a bag full of 380s. I ain't leaving till they are gone. I'm sick of winter!

Sorry Steve, kind of late to this party, but that is one slick set up.
That is exactly what I need & have been putting off for a good while.
the old tore up hands are getting a lot worse now so I car really
sympathize with 'ya on the hand pain deal. I need to break down & get one
then copy your set up. Thank's Steve...

Hey Steve--Looking at your bags of primed cartridges. Is there a safety concern by prepriming and storing them? What about collection of moisture in the bags? I would like to do the same thing. It would save a lot of time and help to keep me from boredom.

Hi Poppop, I thought about the safety concern, there is less chance of a chain reaction with primers in the cases than in the box they come in.

Also thought about the moisture thing, haven't had a problem, stuff is dry when it goes in the bag, bag is sealed, I load the ammo in the same room the primers are stored in so there is no temperature change to cause condensation. If the bags have a good seal there isn't going to be moisture in them to condense.

My 223 cases will be making the trip from my computer room out to the shop to be loaded like I used to do with the pistol cases. What I did with the primed pistol cases and will do with the 223 is leave them in the bag long enough for the temperature in the bag, to equalize with the room temperature in the shop so nothing will condense when the cases are exposed.

To sum it up, I think the bags will be better than the box the primers came in.

There shouldn't be more moisture in the bags than in the original cardboard boxes they came in.

You could also use laundry bags, they'll do the same thing and can't trap moisture.

I got bored and primed fivehundred 40 S&W cases today while watching some tv and having a snack. Decided I am going to run a brace from the coner of the table directly under the bench prime to the foot of the table on same corner. This should stop some of the flexing that happens when pushing down on the lever.
