Horizonal stringing
Posted: 10 Oct 2014 11:48
As stated before I only shoot lead bullets.
I am starting to work with a Mauser Mod 95 with a light barrel.
I am getting a lot of horizonal stringing and trying to find out some info on it I googled it.
The answers are all over the place.
What I have!
Mod 95 Mauser.
New 7MM Mauser barrel 1-9 twist.
Wood stock ( My manufacture ) made from well seasoned maple.
Action glass bedded.
Both action screws torqued to 30 inch pounds
Barrel free floated tip to action using 3x5 card folded in half.
Load is 20 grains of IMR SR4759.
Bullet is a 150 grain bore rider hunter from a NOE mold.
Lead has a BHN of 15-17
At 100 yards I am holding about 2 inch and at 200 get a lot of horizonal stringing, almost a perfect straight line.
Kinda got me stumped.
Need help!!
