Know we do not have a gunsmithing section but thought some one might know how to change an ejector to and extractor on a 410 single shot break open shotgun.
Have an old Winchester single barrel that will send the expended shell about 15 feet away when it is opened.

It has almost never been shot and was an uncles closet gun for 50 or more years.

I took a Rossi Single Shot apart but before I did I made a bunch of slave pins to keep the parts together as they came out and went back in.

Concerning the slave pin stock, it tends to be just a guess as what you need. "Looser" is better. Knock the origin pins out with the slave. A little extra length on a loose slave will allow you to tilt it with your fingers of one hand outside the receiver while the other hand threads the parts on to the slave inside the receiver. The original pin is used to knock the slave back out once the guts are lined up.

Can't really say what will need to be worked on. Really dislike working on a single shot!

What I've seen clay shooters do, is putting one hand over the chambers when opening the gun. So the spent hulls jump into their hands, and not fly all over the place. I know, not a real solution to your problem, but I only own break open shotguns with extractors, no ejector, so I don't know much about how they work.

10 to 15 foot is what all the tacticalcool guys want. Just saying.

Change the ejector spring to a softer compression or cut one or more coils and reinstall.
