Made My Own Stand

Post by reloader762 »

Well, I have two perfectly good powder measures that can throw about 95% of all my rifle and pistol loads. With the recent acquisition of my Lee turret press, I need some way to throw my powder charges directly into the cartridge case. Without having to buy another powder measurer and separate dies for each caliber to work the powder measure.

There is one available that a gentleman on YouTube makes, and it works great, but it cost about $90. But I have a couple friends that are in the metal fabrication business and enjoy working on side projects, especially if it's reloading related, so we made one.

It's rock solid, adjustable up and down and will swivel side to side and is locked it place with set screws. I got it all painted up yesterday and did the final assembly this morning, and it turned out very well for a project made from scrap metal and about $4 worth of screws, nuts, and bolts.

Reloader, that is a slick setup, very nice. Is that a Little Dandy? I use mine all the time with
Bailyboats adjustable rotor. Very accurate & repeatable.. Don't have to mess with a box full
of rotors.. Again,, great job.

Thanks, It's made out of heady duty tube steel and solid rod so it want flex at all even when using my RCBS DUO Measurer and yes that my Little Dandy I've had for 35 years.

Bailyboat lives in the next town over from me but I never purchased one of his rotors as I already had about fifteen rotors before he came out with his. Might pick one up though to fill in the gaps.

Actually the funnel is part of the Hornady Lock-N- Load powder funnel die set which I'm using to charge all my rifle and pistol case. It fits snugly into and is raised up by contact with the case mouth by either one of two drop in bushings depending on the cartridge you are reloading. It looks similar to a set of MTM funnels I have and is probably made for Hornady by them, the Lee funnel will also fit in the die bushing as well.

Make smoke,
The Lee funnel fits exactly so in the Lee powder through die adapter that comes with the handgun dies.

Converted my original stand with the threaded nut to a quicker method by using the Hornady LNL system.
