Lee Melting Pots

Post by chipsXJ »

I am going to jump on the bullet casting bandwagon......better late than never!

I will only be reloading 5-6K rounds per year at most ( I think).

Can I get by with the 10 lb version or should I get the 20 lb version.

get the 20 lb - bottom pour - they do tend to drip but are great pots - keep some paper clips with needle nose pliers to clear nozzle and something to catch drip and a screw driver to turn screw to stop drips - with all this they work great

Get or make a PID to control the temp. The temp swings over 100 deg on the lee pots. Otherwise they are fine.

I built a PID for mine and it kept the temperature pretty steady. Everything else about it was a negative. Took it all off and went back to the old way and made way better bullets.
